Having switched from LJ to blogspot, in addition to other factors, my blogging (and web-presence in general) has dwindled to near-non-existent levels.
I just thought of how this may or may not have to do with the idea of posting to a set audience, as I had with LJ.
On one hand, its freeing. On another, I have to ask, who am I writing for? When the audience is anonymous, I'm more critical of the thoughts I let out into the ether.
About a year ago I canceled my personal Myspace profile. I spent entirely too much time chasing after ghosts on there, and it was seriously depressing the shit out of me.
Introspection aside, I'm doing a fill-in shift at Time Machines records in Easthampton tonight. Getting paid in beer and store credit.
Getting a few hours to peruse a giant record collection, select a few things to take home, and, yes, drink beer. Not a bad start to my Saturday night.
So I've checked out the second Fingerprintz LP, "The Very Dab," its good, not as good as "Distinguishing Marks," since its a slower more dubbed out LP than the latter's dead-on prediction of the sound of every John Hughes 80's teen dramady.
I also finally heard a Sparks LP I like.
I also, also checked out another Durutti Column LP and found that I'm just not that impressed by them.
And in another half hour I'll be off to Sunderland again to Goten, and dinner with friends.
Oh!! The Simpsons movie is actually pretty great.
